Greece Villa Rental Costs: How to Compare the Complete Quote
To compare Greece villa rental costs, ask for a written quote for the same dates, guests and service plan. Separate accommodation and mandatory charges from optional extras, then record the payment schedule, security deposit and cancellation terms. A lower nightly rate is useful only when you know what that rate actually buys.
1. Give every villa the same trip brief
Start with arrival and departure dates, adult and child guest counts, the bedrooms you need and your preferred destination. Note whether separate sleeping spaces, a particular bathroom arrangement or an arrival outside standard check-in hours matters. A quote for fewer guests or a shorter stay is not a like-for-like alternative.
Browse Mykonos villas and Chania villas before requesting your shortlist. If you are still choosing between destinations, use the Mykonos or Chania comparison to settle that decision first. Ask how long each proposal remains valid; an enquiry is not a reservation.
2. Translate “included” into a service schedule
Accommodation is one line; the service schedule is another. Ask about cleaning frequency, linen changes, arrival arrangements and any grocery coordination. A service being included does not necessarily mean its underlying purchases are included. For example, the published Villa Only View description separates grocery coordination from the cost of groceries; confirm the current arrangement for your selected property.
Get a list with frequencies and limits rather than relying on an umbrella label such as luxury or all-inclusive. If one villa includes a service you will not use, note that too. Value depends on your own trip, not the longest amenities list.
3. Price the extras you actually intend to use
Make two versions of the budget: the villa stay alone, and the stay with your chosen services. Truman accepts enquiries about optional chef, transfer, yacht and wellness arrangements, subject to availability and a separate quote. Do not add every possible extra simply because it appears on a service menu.
For a chef, separate ingredients, drinks, staff and cleaning from the cooking fee. For transport, state passengers, luggage, timings and planned journeys. Ask whether any coordination charge is separate. The villa concierge guide explains the questions to ask before adding services.
4. Use a complete-quote comparison sheet
Use one column per shortlisted villa. Leave unknown items marked “awaiting confirmation” rather than treating them as free.
| Line to compare | What to record |
|---|---|
| Accommodation | Exact dates, occupancy, currency and rental total |
| Mandatory charges | All applicable taxes and required fees; included or additional |
| Included services | Tasks, frequency, limits and purchases excluded |
| Chosen extras | Itemised total and supplier-specific terms |
| Payments | Booking payment, balance deadline and accepted method |
| Security deposit | Amount, handling, release process and possible deductions |
| Cancellation | Deadline, amount retained and treatment of extras |
Compare the non-refundable trip cost separately from money temporarily held as security. Both affect available funds, but they serve different purposes.
5. Distinguish booking payments from security deposits
The word deposit can mean a payment towards the rental or a separate amount held against damage. Ask which meaning applies. Record when each amount is due, who receives it and what written booking confirmation follows. Do not assume a security deposit is returned immediately at checkout.
Ask how the property is checked, how deductions are explained, how a disagreement is handled and when any balance is released. Also ask about currency conversion or payment charges if relevant. This is a budgeting checklist, not a statement that every villa uses the same deposit policy.
6. Read cancellation and change terms together
Ask what happens if you cancel, reduce the guest count, change dates or arrive late. Get the actual deadline and retention schedule for your booking. The accommodation terms and those for a chef, transfer or charter may differ; cancelling one does not automatically cancel the others.
Before paying, collect the final proposal and terms in one place, confirm the exact property and dates, and identify which services are confirmed versus still requested. If an important condition is unclear, use Contact Truman to resolve it in writing. A clear quote makes the decision easier without promising a universal price or refund.
Questions before you book
Can I compare villas using the nightly price alone?
Use the nightly price as a starting point, then compare the full stay total for the same dates and occupancy. Include mandatory charges and the optional services you plan to book.
Is a security deposit part of the holiday cost?
Keep it separate in your comparison. It affects the funds you need available, while its release and any deductions depend on the written terms for your property.
Are concierge services automatically included?
Confirm the exact proposal. Optional services and underlying supplier costs may require separate quotations, even where some coordination is included.
